Diaspora Lofans Donate Medical, Educational Aid

By Korboi Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent

VOINJAMA, April 10 (LINA) -Members of the Jarboimai, Wondowuzo and Wenziezo Association in the Diaspora have donated medical and educational materials worth over US$25,000 to the people of the towns in Bondi Clan, Voinjama District in Lofa County.

The consignment includes seven surgical beds, elementary and junior high school textbooks and other assorted items and was received by the newly-inducted Town Chief of Weziezo Town, Francis Gobeh and the chairman of Wondowuzo Progressive Youth, James Kawala.

Making the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agency recently via mobile phone, Town Chief Gobeh thanked the citizens of the towns residing in the diaspora for the donation.

Chief Gobeh said the electronic surgical beds would be used in a five bedroom, self-help clinic currently under construction in Wondowuzo town, while the textbooks would be distributed among elementary and junior high schools in the district.

Meanwhile, Chief Gobeh has disclosed that the three towns have embarked on the construction of a guest house valued at US$16,000, as well as other self-help projects to improve the living standard of citizens in the three towns.

He called on citizens of the towns to emulate the good example of the Diaspora citizens, noting that the reconstruction of Liberia after the civil crisis should claim the attention of every Liberian.
