TUBMANBURG, March 31 (LINA) – Garwula District Commissioner, M. Kaison Kiadii, has said that the district has earmarked the construction of a commissioner's compound, schools and clinics in the 2013-2014 Fiscal year.
He said funding for the projects will come from the District’s allotment of the County Development Fund (CDF) for Grand Cape Mount County, where the district is located.
He, however, did not say the cost of the projects, nor how much has been allotted to the district from the CDF and Social Development Fund.
Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Klay, Bomi County at the weekend during the Commissioners Council of Western Region meeting, Commissioner Kiadii said a clinic is under construction in Jaijai Town on the Talay Town-to-Daniel Town highway.
He said funding for the clinic also came from the CDF.
Commissioner Kiadii also disclosed plans to construct a Guest House in the district, and put the cost of the Guest House at US$130,000.
Commissioner Kiadii said the money will be generated by citizens of the district through taxation, with each person paying L$50.00.
He also explained that companies operating in the district have been contacted to assist in the implementation of the project.
The Commissioner said they will also solicit funding from eminent citizens of the district residing in other parts of the country and abroad.
