Ex-Bong Inspector Nudges Liberians To Promote Unification

By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBRANGA, May 16 (LINA) - Former Bong County Inspector William Kollie has urged Liberians to focus on issues that would promote national reconciliation and unification.

He said Liberia’s progress depends on its citizenry, saying everyone must work in ensuring the sustainability of peace and development in the country.

Kollie, who was speaking as the country observed National Unification Day May 14, warned Liberians against the reintroduction of the 'Congo' and 'Native' ideology in the body politics of the country.

He told the Liberia News Agency that this ideology is divisive and has the propensity to undermine the current progress being made by the country.

He wants his kinsmen in Bong County not to accept this ideology as campaign slogan but rather make their choice based on who has the capacity to serve the country.

He stressed that in this year’s elections, Liberians must vet individuals who want to be their leaders beyond tribal, religious and other affiliations.
