Bong Caucus Chair Hails Local Bar Association

By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, May 9 (LINA) - The Chairperson of the Bong County Legislative Caucus, Representative George Mulbah, is lauding the county’s local bar association for weeding out apprentice legal practitioners from the profession.

The Bong County local bar association is the umbrella organization for lawyers hailing from the county.

Representative Mulbah said it is legally risky to have people practicing law in court and rendering verdicts in crucial cases involving citizens without proper legal credentials.

He was speaking Monday at the official opening of the May Term of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarnga.

Representative Mulbah hailed the Judiciary for rotating county attorneys in the country, but recommended that the same be done for magistrates.

He said when a particular magistrate stays a long time in one environment, there is a tendency that such magistrate may arrogate unto him or herself undue powers.

Representative Mulbah recommitted the Bong Legislative Caucus to working with the justice system in the county for dispensation of justice to citizens.

He said the county legislative caucus was instrumental in creating additional magisterial areas in Salala, Gbartala, Foequelleh and Zoewinta to help improve access to justice in the county.
