Police Chief Nudges Youth To Embrace Peace

By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, April 20 (LINA) - Police Inspector-General Gregory Coleman has called on Liberian youths to do away with violence and embrace positive thoughts and actions for the benefit of not only themselves, but the nation as a whole.

Speaking to journalists during a recent town hall meeting with citizens in Gbarnga, Coleman said Liberia went through several years of civil war without anything to point to as a nation.

He wants every Liberian, especially the youth, to embrace the current peace and continue to support the country’s transformation agenda.

The Police Inspector-General challenged the young people to oppose violence in all its forms and focus on promoting peace and development in their respective communities.

He also wants Liberians to work in promoting peace during this year’s elections and not to take the law into their own hands whenever there are issues but to seek redress through the court or justice system.
