3 Global Regions Make 80.2% Import Payments To Liberia

MONROVIA, April 5 (LINA) -Three global regions made a total of 80.2 percent imports payments to Liberia in 2016, the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) has reported.

A CBL report released recently named Asia, Africa and Europe as the top three regions which account for the significant amount of imports payments to Liberia.

According to the report, Asia accounted for 33.4 percent of total imports payments to Liberia, Africa 28.9 percent, while Europe accounted for 17.9 percent of the total payment.

However, the report stated that statistics on sources of imports to Liberia have continuously declined from 2014 to 2016.

The report indicated that at the end of 2016, preliminary statistics showed that trade between Liberia, North America and the Middle East declined by 63.9 percent, North America experienced 33.9 percent, while the Middle East experienced 30.0 percent decline, according to the report.
