By Emmanuel Mondaye, LINA Gbarpolu County Correspondent

GOYOMAH, BOPOLU, March 25 (LINA) - The Liberia National Police detachment in Gbarpolu County is probing a 42-year-old Sierra Leonean for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in Goyomah, Konegai Clan in Gbarpolu County.

Disclosing this to the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Tuesday, Police County Commander Jacob Comehn said on March 21 suspect Amadu Smith was arrested for sexually abusing the little girl by using his fingers to penetrate her private part in his bedroom.

He disclosed that suspect Smith, who has admitted to committing the crime, said he carried out the act because he wanted to get rich.

Commander Comehn said the suspect also told Police investigators that he was instructed by a fetish doctor to bring blood from the private organ of a virgin, if he wanted to get rich.

Meanwhile, according to Commander Comehn, the victim (name withheld), was taken to the Jallah Lone Medical Center in Bopolu where the medical staff confirmed that the child’s private part had been tampered with.

Suspect Smith is expected to be arraigned before the Bopolu Magisterial Court this week for prosecution.
