MIA Reinstates Suspended Chief In Bong

By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, February 7 (LINA) - The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reinstated Mary Larteh as Paramount Chief of Jorquelleh Chiefdom in Bong County.

Chief Larteh was suspended in September last year for her alleged involvement into the illegal establishment of Sande bushes in locations where there were Poro activities taking place in the chiefdom.

But in her letter of reinstatement dated February 3, the ministry said Chief Larteh was re-instated after a full scale investigation proved that the magnitude of the offense does not warrant suspension.

Meanwhile, Larteh reinstatement takes immediate effect, the ministry noted.
