Police Ticketing Raises L$425k, US$4.4k In January

MONROVIA, February 7 (LINA) - The Liberia National Police(LNP) Traffic Ticketing Section in January 2017 generated L$425,150 and US$4,479 from the issuance of tickets for traffic violations, Deputy Police spokesman Lewis Norman has disclosed.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency Monday, Chief Superintendent Norman said the amount has been deposited into government revenue was raised   throughout the country.

According to Norman, a total of 510 tickets were issued in January, and that out of that number, 418 were paid for while five tickets were challenged.

Chief Superintendent Norman indicated that besides challenging the five tickets, two persons were warned, with 85 additional tickets are outstanding.

He warned vehicles operators and owners to be mindful of the traffic laws of Liberia as the Liberia National Police will not hesitate to issue tickets to any traffic violator, no matter their status in society.
