Former Bong College Prexy Pushes For 'Unity Conference'
By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, January 31 (LINA) - The former President of the Bong County Technical College (BCTC), Dr. John Flomo, is proposing a county-level conference to unite citizens and residents of the county.

Dr. Flomo said it was necessary to begin a conversation that will bring about lasting peace and unity among the people of the Bong County.

In his first radio interview since his suspension and subsequent retirement, Dr. Flomo said Bong County has a lot of potential but jealousy, greed and hatred were undermining the growth and development of the county.
Dr. Flomo said such conference will ensure that people admit to their wrongdoings against others and reconcile their differences to move the county forward.

The former BCTC President, who described himself as a recent victim of conspiracy, gossip and hatred, said unless the people of Bong County desist from vices that continue to divide them, development will elude the county.

Dr. Flomo was suspended by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in March 2016 for what the Executive Mansion referred to as his involvement in acts that were responsible for the slow pace of construction work at the BCTC.

The President also mandated the Board of Trustees of the college to commission an audit of the finances of the college and the construction of the College while Dr. Flomo was serving his suspension.

However, Dr. Flomo was reinstated in December after an audit by the Internal Audit Agency cleared him of financial misappropriation.

In line with the communication from President Sirleaf, Dr. Flomo was reinstated and retired as President of the College few days later.
