MONROVIA, January 25 (LINA) - The Southeastern Women Development Association (SEWODA), which groups women in Grand Kru, Maryland and River Gee Counties, has held a three-day workshop in Fish Town, River Gee County on capacity building and decision-making.
The workshop brought together 48 participants with 16 from each of the member counties, according to the Coordinator of SEWODA, Helena Tuwo.
Speaking on the UNMIL Radio “Coffee Break” on Wednesday, Tuwo said the workshop afforded the participants an opportunity to share experiences and ideas on capacity building.
According to Tuwo, the workshop will also focus on women’s participation in decision-making, entrenching their knowledge through training, networking and being regarded as leaders in society.
She said SEWODA is working with citizens to engage their lawmakers and other stakeholders on social issues, noting that part of this engagement includes educating citizens on how to gather evidence on issues that affect their communities and how to use those evidences for positive change.
