Court Detains Boy,19, On Murder Charges
By Comfort M. Johnson

MONROVIA, January 16 (LINA) – The Monrovia City Court has detained a 19-year-old boy linked to the killing of 20-year-old Fickee Suah on 9th Street in the Monrovia suburb of Sinkor early last year.

Defendant Bill George, alias “Bill Clinton”, was on December 25, 2016 arrested by the Liberia National Police (LNP) based on information it received that the accused was involved in the stabbing of Suah by a group of unidentified boys known as 'Crack City' who escaped the scene

The defendant was on Monday arraigned before the Monrovia City Court to answer to the charges levied against him.

The Police charge sheet indicated that on December 24, 2016, the deceased, Fickee Suah, along with his friend Calvin Langama, went on 9th Street to witness a musical show hosted by a community group, and that upon their arrival Langama’s phone was jerked from his hand by a boy whom he engaged to retrieve it.

According to the Police charge sheet, in the process of retrieving his phone fighting broke out, prompting Suah to join in to defend his friend who was under attack by the group.

During the commotion, Suah was stabbed on the left side of his shoulder close to his neck by the attackers who fled the scene.

The Police charge revealed that upon arrival at the hospital, Suah was pronounced dead by medical practitioners.

During police investigation, suspect George denied his involvement in the killing of Suah, but admitted that he was with the group on the night of the incident, and named other members as Daddy, Alpha Mulbah, Popingman, Dominic, Saye, and Zankanlaka, the main suspect who allegedly stabbed Suah.

The Police charge sheet said all of the members of the group named are still at large and that police are in search of them.

Meanwhile, defendant George is currently being detained at the Monrovia Central Prison awaiting court trial.
