Thieves Burgle Magisterial Court in Garwula District
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, March 23 (LINA) –Thieves have broken into the Magisterial Court in the Township of Madina in Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County and made away with important court documents, burning some just outside the court.

Senior Magistrate A. B. Massaquoi told the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Friday this is the third time the court has been burglarized.

He attributed this to the lack of state security to protect the court, especially during night hours.

Magistrate Massaquoi explained that during the first and second burglaries of the court, no suspect was arrested, despite the fact that the cases were reported to the joint security in the county.

According to him, a suspect identified only as Armah Manoballah has been arrested by police in connection with the latest burglary.

The judge informed LINA that the suspect was summoned by the court recently for allegedly stealing cassava from a farm in the township.

He said during police operation after the incident, suspect Manoballah was arrested with the missing court roll book, radio and other items.

Magistrate Massaquoi said during preliminary trial of the theft of property case brought against suspect Manoballah, some of his relatives filed a bond and he was released on bail.
