Police Nab Suspected Killer Of Siah Tamba In Buchanan

By Chiedi E. Nyenmoh

MONROVIA, January 10 (LINA) – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested and charged Sherman Momo of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County for allegedly killing Siah Tamba in Buchanan recently.

The body of Siah, a renowned sex worker, was discovered on a sugar cane farm, sparking a riot by an angry crowd which damaged properties during their protest.

Police spokesman Sam Collins said on the UNMIL Radio “Coffee Break” Tuesday that the arrest of Momo followed an intensive police investigation predicated upon the fact that he was the last person seen with Siah before her demise.

He added that Momo buried Tamba after allegedly murdering her.

According to Collins, some parts were extracted from the lady’s body when it was discovered in a shallow grave.

According to Collins, that provoked the crowd to anger, culminating into the riot that also led to property damage, including the local police station and some entertainment centers in Buchanan.

Collins said Momo is currently in police custody awaiting court trial.
