MONROVIA, January 9 (LINA) - Police have arrested 15 persons in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County for their alleged involvement in a riot sparked off by the mysterious death of a 22-year-old lady in the city over the weekend.

Police spokesman Sam Collins told the UNMIL Radio “Coffee Break” Monday that Siah Tamba, an aleged renowned sex worker was found dead with lacerations all over her body on a sugar cane farm last Saturday.

Collins said those arrested and accused were taken to the nearby police station for investigation, stating that more suspects who were involved in the riot are expected to be arrested.

However, he said the police need information from the citizens to carry on their investigation in order to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and brought to justice.

Collins stated that the police are constantly patrolling the streets of Buchanan, working with the local authorities to ensure that justice prevails.

According to him, the angry crowd threw stones at the police station, causing severe damage to the building and other nearby structures and entertainment centers.
