BUCHANAN, December 28 (LINA) - Grand Bassa County Electoral District #2 was a scene of jubilation when hundreds of citizens turned out to witness the dedication of a radio station built by the Representative Mary Munsee-ma Karwor.
The station is the first of its kind in the district.
Gender Minster Julia Duncan-Cassel, Grand Bassa County Superintendent Levi Demmah, the Chairman of the Traditional Council of Liberia Zanzan Karwor, Chiefs, and CSOs, among others, celebrated the event at the Civil Compound of the district.
“The project which is valued at over US $39,000 is part of my commitment made to the people regarding development in the area and a means of helping the citizens air their views on issues that concern them,” Rep. Karwor said.
According to the lawmaker, “Radio Light” is broadcasting on the frequency of 92.3MHZ with a 300 watt transmitter that covers several parts of Grand Bassa County and parts of Bong, Rivercess and Margibi Counties.
She explained that the project is not part of her Legislative Support Projects that are ongoing in the district, but is a personal contribution with support from Chief Zanzan Karwor and other individuals.
