MOE Announces Scholarship Program For 9 Schools

MONROVIA, December 8 (LINA) – Nine academic and vocational institutions in Liberia have been earmarked by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in collaboration with the Chinese Enterprise to benefit from scholarships during the second semester of Academic Year 2016/2017.

Disclosing this on UNMIL Radio “Coffee Break” show Wednesday, MoE Director of Communications Maxim Bleatan named four universities, three colleges and two vocational institutions whose students will benefit from the program.

They are the University of Liberia, Stella Maris Polytechnic University in Monrovia, Tubman University in Maryland County and Cuttington University in Suakoko, Bong County.

Other institutions earmarked to benefit from the program are Grand Bassa County Community College, Nimba County Community College, Lofa County Community College, and Booker Washington Institute (BWI) in Kakata, Margibi County as well as the Monrovia Vocational Training Center in Montserrado County.

Bleatan indicated that students specializing in management, mechanical engineering, construction management, electrical engineering, economics, petroleum engineering and agriculture are being engaged for the scholarships.

He stated that prospective candidates must have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or above and submit written applications and other required documents to the Ministry of Education for qualification.
