GBARNGA, November 5 (LINA) - The Chief Executive Officer of a leading hotel in Gbarnga, Bong County, S. Tornorlah Varpilah, is encouraging Liberians to invest in the private sector to contribute to the nation’s rebuilding process.

Varpilah noted that a strong private sector investment initiative by Liberians would improve the country's economy and ensure sustainable growth for the nation and its citizens.

Varpilah is specifically calling on his kinsmen of Bong County to begin investing in the county to buttress government's efforts in creating livelihood opportunities for its citizens.

He made the call recently at the official opening of the second branch of the Passion Hotel in the Telecom Community in Gbarnga, Bong County.

Varpilah, a former minister of transport, and youth and sports, observed that local investment enlightens the community and provides job opportunities for citizens.

He said youth empowerment is a path for societal growth and development, noting that the hotel will continue to provide quality services in meeting the demand of its customers.

According to Varpilah, the hotel gives special priority to the purchase of goats and vegetables from farmers, noting that similar efforts will be extended to other counties in the region.

Also speaking, Bong County Representative Prince K. Moye, who cut the ribbon to the hotel, hailed the Varpilah family for its innovation in the development of the county.

He pledged the County Legislative Caucus’ support to ensuring a better business environment in the county.

Also speaking, Representative George Mulbah said the county leadership is working with central government to ensure the pavement of the streets of Gbarnga so that businesses can attract the needed investment.
