Jones Nudges Economic Empowerment Of Citizens
By Stephen N. Sonpon

MONROVIA, October 27 (LINA) – An official of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), Dr. J. Mills Jones, has said Liberia needs a leadership that will empower citizens economically to ensure peace and development.

According to the former Central Bank of Liberia Executive Governor, this will provide opportunities for the citizenry and produce a strong economy that will benefit every Liberian and reduce the poverty rate.

Jones made the statement recently at the program marking the 71st anniversary of the United Nations and a peace festival hosted by Liberia Crusaders for Peace at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

He said people that are empowered in their country economically are free from poverty.

Dr. Jones thanked the organizers of the peace festival, noting “it is very appropriate as our country goes to very crucial elections in 2017.”
