Nimba Supt. Urges Citizens To Shun Violence
By S. Kannay Ziamo, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

GANTA, October 27 (LINA) - Nimba County Superintendent Fong Zuagele has called on citizens to do away with acts of violence and other vices that have the propensity to plunge the county into chaos.

Zuagele said mob violence and other forms of violent acts undermine the peace and stability of any nation and, as such, citizens of Nimba should avoid using violence to seek redress to their grievances.

Speaking to journalists in Sanniquellie recently, Zuagele admonished the citizenry to channel their grievances through legal institutions for intervention and redress, instead of using violent approaches as recourse.

He made specific reference to the recent burning, looting and destruction of the hotel and home of businessman Prince Howard in Ganta as well as the vandalizing of the property of Arcelor Mittal, as acts that Nimbaians should condemn and discourage.

The Nimba County official called on citizens of the county to help protect the property of companies and investors, noting that the constant destruction of companies’ properties by citizens has the tendency to scare away investors.

He said it is about time that citizens of the county confide in the country's justice system by seeking recourse through the legal means.
