Massive Clean-up Underway To Give Ganta Facelift
By S. Kannay Ziamo, LINA Nimba County Correspondent
GANTA, October 27 (LINA) – The Sam Brown Network-Liberia (SBNL) in Ganta, Nimba County, in collaboration with the Ganta City Council (GCC), has launched a massive clean-up campaign to give the city a facelift.
The exercise launched Thursday will be carried out in 28 communities within the city and its surroundings for time indefinite, Ganta City Mayor Benjamin Dokpah has said.
Dokpah indicated that tools such as shovels, wheelbarrows and hoes, among others, were provided by SBNL, a newly-established organization whose mission is to keep the city clean for a healthy environment.
The Ganta City Mayor said keeping the city clean is one of the major priorities of the GCC, adding that “the doors of the GCC remain open to anyone or organization wishing to join hands in making sure the city is clean and healthy.”
It can be recalled that early this month, the GCC embarked on shutting down private homes and public facilities without sanitary facilities like bathrooms and toilets.
The measure, according to Dokpah, is part of efforts to make Ganta a better city for everyone to live, noting that his office will not relent in enforcing city ordinances.
