‘Keep The Peace Before, After 2017 Election’ Mubah
By Calvin Brooks

MONROVIA, October 25 (LINA) - The Executive Director of the Peace Building Office at the Ministry of Internal Affairs has challenged Liberians to strive to keep the nation’s hard-earned peace before and after the presidential and legislative elections in 2017.

Director Edward Mulbah stated that Liberia is at the level to ensure that peace is sustained rather than building peace, noting that sustaining peace is the responsibility of every Liberian.

Director Mulbah proffered the challenged Monday at the start of a two-day consultation on the Institutionalization of the County Peace Committee (CPC) at the National level implemented under the project ‘Strengthening Local/Traditional Mechanisms for Peace Supported by the Peace-building Support Office through the United Nations Development Program held in Monrovia.

He noted that sustaining peace is critical and crucial to the economic and social growth and development of Liberia, noting that without peace, the transformation of the nation will be difficult.

He indicated that CPC has a significant role to play in ensuring that peace is jealously guided at the county, district and community levels.
