MIA Boss Lauds Pres. Sirleaf For Fostering Development

GBARNGA, October 19 (LINA) - Internal Affairs Minister Dr. Henrique Tokpa has lauded President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for her leadership in fostering Liberia's growth and development.

According to Dr. Tokpa, President Sirleaf’s leadership has not only ensured peace and tranquility but the rehabilitation and construction of several roads and many other development initiatives across the country to enhance the livelihood of Liberians.

Speaking at the dedication of the Red-Light-Gate-15-Gbarnga Highway recently, Minister Tokpa said places once referred to as ‘walking counties’ have received roads, which, he noted, is a boost to the economy.

He promised to continue to work towards leaving an impressive legacy for the first female Liberian leader.

Also speaking at the occasion, Bong County Legislative Caucus Chair Senator Henry Yallah lauded the Liberian leader for the road project.

On behalf of the people Bong County, he appealed to the Liberian leader to help with the ongoing pavement of streets in Gbarnga.

Senator Yallah noted that the beauty of all of the roads being constructed will not be fully appreciated if the roads in the various provincial capitals remain deplorable.

In response, President Sirleaf requested counties to create road funds to which every citizen can contribute. This, she believes, will help to develop the country.
