By Stephen N. Sonpon

MONROVIA, October 18 (LINA) – Liberia's Culture Ambassador Juli Endee has called on Liberians to promote peace and democracy by conducting violence-free elections in 2017.

Endee said for Liberian to conduct non-violent elections in 2017 is a crucial indicator to the sustainability of the nation's stability and democratic governance.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information regular press briefing in Monrovia recently, Endee said it is good to prevent conflict during the electoral process, rather than encourage acts that will help  to brew conflict.

The Culture Ambassador’s statement comes against the backdrop that the Crusaders for Peace, which she heads, and its partners will on October 24 host a one-day Peace Festival at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

Endee noted that it is also necessary to ensure that the elections be conducted in a free and fair manner, noting that this is cardinal to the prevention of electoral violence.
