‘Ma Famata Was Blessed By God’ – Pres Sirleaf

MONROVIA, October 17 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has paid tribute to the late 101-year-old Madam Famatta Morris, describing her as “blessed by God.”

Centenarian Famata Morris was born on September 24, 1915 and died in October at her residence in Clay Ashland, Montserrado County.

In a brief tribute at her wake-keeping, the Liberian leader said Madam Morris was “exceptionally blessed by the many years God had given her on earth to live.”

President Sirleaf thanked God for what he did for her friend, recalling that she visited Madam Morris at home every time she went to her farm.

The Liberian leader noted that the late Famatta Morris “always reminded me of my grandmother whenever I visited her at her home,” noting that Ma Famata “was my friend and may her soul rest in peace.”

The late Famatta Morris was laid to rest Saturday, October 15, following funeral rites at the First Baptist Church in Clay Ashland in Montserrado County.
