Pres. Sirleaf Signs Book of Condolence For Late Ambulai Johnson

MONROVIA, October 13 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Thursday led an array of senior government officials to sign the book of condolence for late Internal Affairs Minister Ambulai Johnson.

The United States Ambassador to Liberia, Christian Ann Elder was also part of the entourage.

According to an Executive Mansion release, President Sirleaf signed the book of condolence in the conference room of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Johnson died in the U.S. State of North Carolina on Tuesday, September 20.

Following his death, a memorial service celebrating the life of the former Internal Affairs Minister was held in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, September 30, bringing together family, friends and sympathizers.

Prior to his death, he served as Deputy Minister of Labor in 1980 and former lecturer at Cuttington College now Cuttington University in 1970. The late
Johnson also lectured at the University of Liberia (UL) in 1980 and served as Minister of Internal Affairs from 2006-2009.
