LNP Arrest Man, 49, For Armed Robbery In Bong
By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, October 3 (LINA) - Police in Gbarnga, Bong County, are probing a 49-year-old man, Augustan Suah, for alleged armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms.

Bong County Police Detachment Chief of Operations Dauda Swaray told journalists that Suah Monday morning broke into the home of an employee of the Carter Center, Lorweimon Dokie, in the Deanville community in Gbarnga.

Inspector Swaray explained that Dokie had returned home to pick up some documents she had left home when she discovered that Suah was in the house packing several materials.

Inspector Swaray said Suah was arrested carrying a pistol with the help of some community residents after several minutes of tussle between him and the lady.

Meanwhile, Suah has admitted to committing the crime and pleaded for forgiveness.

He explained that he is a driver but has since lost his job and could no longer live up to his family responsibility.

The police said they are suspecting that Suah was among several criminals recently raided by the Liberia National Police in Monrovia.
