NAYMOTE Recruits Students As 2017 Election Volunteers
By Chiedi E. Nyenmoh

MONROVIA, September 28 (LINA) - The National Youth Movement for Transparent Elections (NAYMOTE) is recruiting young Liberian high school students in Bong County to serve as volunteers in the 2017 presidential and general elections.

The students, according to Moses Belle, Regional Coordinator of NAYMOTE, are 10th and 11th graders selected from among youths who have been working with the organization since 2011 to ensure improved community development, democracy and volunteerism.

Speaking on the UNMIL Radio talk show “Coffee Break” Wednesday, Belle said the youths will be trained in how to talk to community residents, serve as campaign managers and spread election information to ensure “a strong and responsive democracy.”

Belle said as a regional coordinator, he and his team have agreed to awaken young people to get the vision of the organization and increase participation in the election and ensure peaceful campaigning.

He invited NAYMOTE national office, the National Elections Commission (NEC), the security sector and media to a one-day training for the students to help them in volunteerism and capacity and leadership building, adding that the students will also get awareness on education and health.
