Pres. Sirleaf Hails Germany On 26th Unity Day Anniversary
MONROVIA, September 28 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has congratulated the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion commemorating the 26th Anniversary of German Unity Day.
In a message to her German counterpart, Joachim Gauck, President Sirleaf extended best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and reiterated her satisfaction that Germany continues to prove to be a long-standing and reliable friend to Liberia.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader recounted that on September 13 Germany reinforced the excellent friendship subsisting between it and Liberia when she received a Letter of Credence from the German Ambassador accredited to Liberia, Hubert Jodef Jager.
The release quotes the President as saying Ambassador Jager expressed his country’s support to Liberia in recent years and confirmed Germany’s renewed commitment to assisting Liberia’s development agenda, especially in the areas of energy, infrastructure, health, and transportation.
The Liberian leader hoped that the cordial relationship subsisting between their two countries and peoples will be further strengthened as Liberia takes this opportunity to congratulate Germany and its compatriots for the immense achievements over the years.
