7 On The Run After Flogging DEA Agent
By S. Kannay Ziamo, Nimba County Correspondent

GANTA, September 27 (LINA) - Police in Ganta have launched a manhunt for seven men who allegedly flogged an officer of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in Ganta on Sunday, September 25.

Suspect Moses Weah and six other men beat Officer Lincoln Nesian at a local ghetto located around the LPRC community when he (Officer Nesian) went there to raid the ghetto after receiving a tip-off from some residents of the area.

According to Officer Nesian, when he arrived at the ghetto, he met the owner, Moses Weah and six other men who were consuming and transacting business in illicit drugs, including locally produced marijuana and cocaine.

He said after spending few minutes with the men in the ghetto, he was identified to be an agent of the DEA, prompting the men to flog him gravely.

Explaining his ordeal, Nesian said Weah ordered the six men to beat him up severely on grounds that he had gone there to have them arrested.

He told journalists from his sick bed at a local clinic where he is undergoing treatment that efforts to apprehend Weah and his men proved futile due to the lack of manpower on the scene.

He said Weah was handcuffed but later escaped with the handcuff on his hands.
