LOIC Graduates 100 Youths In Bong

GBARNGA, September 27 (LINA) - The Liberia Opportunities Industrialization Center (LOIC) Gbarnga Satellite has graduated over 100 youths from its skills training programs in Gbarnga, Bong County.

According to the Manager of the LOIC Gbarnga Satellite, Peter Tooman, the graduates were trained in Plumbing, Masonry and Computer Science, among others.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency following the graduation, Tooman expressed excitement over the ceremony and lauded staffers at LOIC for their tireless efforts in imparting knowledge to the young people of Bong County.

The National Program Officer of the Foundation for International Dignity (FIND), Aaron Juakollie, who served as keynote speaker at the program, admonished the graduates to prioritize vocational education, as it is important in the nation’s rebuilding process.

Juakollie also appealed to the government and partners to empower vocational institutions to enable them build the capacity of the country’s youthful generation.

He noted that vocational institutions play a vital role in preparing the technical capacity of the citizenry as well as adequately support the national development agenda, making it necessary for government and partners to invest more in technical vocational education.
