LADA Opens Field Office In Nimba County

GANTA, September 24 (LINA) - Cultivating New Frontiers (CNF) in partnership with the Liberia Agro-business Development Activities (LADA) has officially opened its field office in Ganta, Nimba County.

The program was followed by the launch of a digital financial service.

Speaking at the ceremony recently, LADA's Chief of Party Daniel Gies said with support from the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), LADA hopes to build an infrastructure that will support increase sales and markets for thousands of Liberian farmers.

Gies said LADA will introduce a scale of processing and agriculture inputs to enable farmers have good market and earn more money because the organization's project is about increased investment in the agriculture sector and building the capacity of farmers.

He said while in Nimba County for the next four years, LADA hopes to work with its partners and stakeholders in bringing new level of energies and innovations in making the project successful.

Also speaking, Agriculture Minister Dr. Moses Zinnah disclosed that one major challenge facing the country's agriculture sector is the value chain approach.

He reiterated the Liberian government's commitment to working with partners to improve the sector and assured that the government remains hopeful in working with partners to strengthen the value chain approach of the nation's agriculture sector.

Dr. Zinnah disclosed that the ministry will explore ways to assist the LADA project with some interventions at the appropriate time, adding “The MoA is always prepared for serious collaboration with partners to improve the agriculture sector.”
