Jackson Promises To 'Bring Pride To Liberia' At IMO
By Stephen N. Sonpon

MONROVIA, September 22 (LINA) – Liberia’s Permanent Representative-designate to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Isaac Jackson, has pledged to put Liberia first at the IMO so as “to bring pride to the country.”

Mr. Jackson, who is outgoing Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs, was one of several officials nominated recently by President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to several positions in government at home and abroad.

Addressing the Ministry of Information regular press briefing in Monrovia Thursday, Jackson extended profound gratitude to President Sirleaf for continuously reposing trust and confidence in him to serve the country in different capacities.

Jackson said he will perform his duty with honor and extreme diligence by putting Liberia first in everything he will do at the IMO.

He indicated that “though it is disheartening to leave some colleagues he knows as family members” at the ministry, he has to respond to the call of duty to serve the country in his new position.

Jackson noted that he has served over four ministers and two acting ministers at the ministry without blemish or complaint of disrespect to any of them, and promised to portray the same conduct in his new assignment.
