By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, September 14 (LINA) – A major petroleum dealer in Liberia has officially opened its newly-constructed filling station in Ganta, Nimba County.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency following the dedication Monday, the chairperson of the board of NP Petroleum in Liberia, Francis Dennis, encouraged the people of Nimba County to combat all forms of violence that have the propensity to undermine investment the county.

Dennis said the presence of NP in the county will help to provide employment for youths, adding that violence does not pay or bring about development.

Dennis said acts of violence only throw the economy backward.

Also speaking, Ganta Police Commander Adolphus Zuah called on citizens to seek redress through the police, rather than take the law into their hands.

According to commander Zuah, the September 2015 mob violence in Ganta City affected the local police by destroying the only vehicle it had to transport officers to crime scenes and respond to other emergency cases in time.

Commander Zuah then appealed to the Management of NP filling station to help the police with a vehicle to enable the force effectively fight crimes and maintain law and order.

Also in remarks, the Deputy Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), Mr. Jackson F. Doe Jr., lauded the NP family for supporting government in its development goal.

He said the presence of the filling station in Ganta will help boost economic activities in the city and create employment opportunities for residents.
