CSA Official Urges Pres. Sirleaf To Enforce Civil Service Reform
By Jeraldine M. Gbaa

MONROVIA, September 14 (LINA) - The Intern President of the Civil Servants Association (CSA), James Kolubah, is urging President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to enforce the Civil Service Reform process before leaving office in 2018.

Kolubah made the call Tuesday in an interview on the ELBC “Super Morning Show.”

He believes “the reform will bring dignity to Liberian civil servants,” adding that such reform should be enforced in all ministries and agencies of government “so that the people of Liberia can have a better base.”

Meanwhile, the civil servants are calling on lawmakers as they scrutinize the national budget to see reason to increase civil servants’ salaries.

“Civil servants are working and only need prop up, and the government needs to provide good incentives and inducements for us,” he emphasized, adding, “If our people are properly compensated, they will do more and even go the extra mile.”

Comparing the economic situation in the immediate past to the present, he commended President Sirleaf for the increase in civil servants' salaries, but said more needed to be done.
