Justice Ja’neh Refutes Newspaper Report On Political Meeting
The story, headlined: “For Brumskine Presidential Bid: Justice J’anneh Facilitates Political Meeting?” reported that Associate Justice Ja’neh on August 24 facilitated a meeting on possible collaboration between the Liberty Party (LP) of Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine and some ‘key’ opposition political parties in the country.
The story further stated that said meeting took place at the residence of Cllr. Brumskine and key among those in attendance were Cllr. Charles W. Brumskine, political leader of the Liberty Party; Sen. Prince Y. Johnson, Senator of Nimba County; Mr. Musa H. Bility, an executive of the ruling Unity Party and Mr. Ben Sanvee, Chairman of the Liberty Party.
According to a judiciary press release, at no time did Justice Ja’neh facilitate, caused to be facilitated or even participated in any such meeting on August 24 or any other day for that matter.
The release noted that at no time has Justice Ja’neh met with, nor conferred with the individuals mentioned in the story collectively at any location or for any particular reason, let alone political.
The Office of the Associate Justice therefore calls on the publishers of the Heritage Newspaper to retract that story with the same prominence as it was published within twenty-four hours of this release.
The release said failure to do so would leave the Associate Justice with no alternative but to consider all options legally available to him.
