By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, September 12 (LINA) - Over 200 students in Bomi County have completed a month-long vacation job at a local farm in Weakama Town in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.
The program, which was provided by Montserrado County District #6 Representative Edwin Snowe, ended over the weekend in the county with each of the beneficiaries receiving L$5,000.
Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency on the Snowe & Sons Pumah Farm on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ophelia Konneh said the money will enable them purchase school materials and other items to prepare for the incoming academic year.
Konneh commended Representative Snowe and the management of the farm for the gesture and called on other prominent citizens of the county to emulate the good example of the lawmaker.
She noted that the financial aid provided to them through the vacation job has brought relief to the students and their parents who are faced with financial constraints.
She then urged her colleagues to see the vacation job as an opportunity to continue their education in order to become better citizens tomorrow.
