Prince Howard, Chief Executive Officer of the business firm, Alvino Incorporated, said the government can support Liberian businesses by providing them loans, training in business management and prioritizing local businesses in the award of contracts, among others.

Mr. Howard made the call recently in Ganta when he officially opened to the public a modern clothes manufacturing industry.

According to the Liberia News Agency Correspondent who visited the industry, the facility has modern sewing and styling machines that were manufactured in Turkey and other countries in Asia.

The clothes manufacturing industry is the first of its kind in the City of Ganta.

Named in honor of his mother, Yei Dorcas Kehken, the YDK Elegance Home specializes in sewing and styling of male and female wears like jeans, linen, lace and lappas, among others, Mr. Howard disclosed.

The YDK also sews and sells African and European fashion materials for weddings, funerals and other occasions, added Howard.

He also said the YDK has began supplying and sewing uniforms and uniform clothes for schools, banks, restaurants and other organizations in Ganta and its environs.

The YDK Elegance House, according to Howard, will serve customers from across Liberia and neighboring countries.

He said besides business transactions, the YDK is also providing free training for desirous Liberians in tailoring, design and styling and operation and maintenance of tailoring machines.

The Alvino Incorporated CEO observed that all these investments cannot be sustained without government's support to local businesses.
