CSO Prepares 150 Students For WAEC Exams
By Chiedi E. Nyenmoh

MONROVIA, September 6 (LINA) – A civil society organization in Monrovia has started tutoring about 150 junior and senior high school students across the country to ensure excellent performance in next year’s West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams.

The Youth for Change to Educate the Future (YCEF) embarked on the exercise recently in partnership with the Liberia Institute for the Promotion of Academic Excellence (LIPAE), according to the YCEF Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Sieh.

Sieh said in an interview on UNMIL radio morning talk show “Coffee Break” Monday that the students are part of a total of 400 targeted for the program which, he indicated, was reactivated early this month.

The program, according to Sieh, was temporarily halted due to financial shortfall compounded by the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in 2014, which forced most of its sponsors to flee the country.

Meanwhile, Sieh is calling on government and partners for assistance to ensure the success of the program, adding, “The preparation of junior and senior high school students is crucial for the human resource development of Liberia.”
