Govt. Certificates Boulevard Palace As “Five-Star Hotel”
By Decontee M. Wesseh

MONROVIA, September 6 (LINA) – The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism has officially certificated the Boulevard Palace as a “five-star hotel” in Liberia.

Making the disclosure Tuesday at the Ministry of Information press briefing, Deputy Information Minister Isaac Jackson said the decision followed a detailed inspection and investigation in keeping with the ministry’s statutory responsibility.

Jackson’s comment came as a result of rumors circulating in some quarters that the hotel does not meet the criteria to be a five-star hotel.

He clarified that those who carried out the work from the Department of Tourism at the Ministry are professionally trained in the area of tourism in keeping with internationally-accepted standards.

“Our Tourism staffs are knowledgeable and competent and their expertise cannot be questioned on this subject. There are criteria laid down which the staff duly followed for which we have recognized the Boulevard Palace as one of the best in the country,” Jackson said.

He then thanked the staff of the Tourism Department for “a job well done” at the Boulevard Palace.
