GANTA  September 5 (LINA) - Nimba County District #8 Representative Larry P.  Younquoi has kicked off the construction of a modern Town Hall in Gipo Township, Nimba County.

The construction of the town hall, which is estimated to cost US$35,000, is expected to last for three months beginning September.

The ground breaking ceremony took place at the weekend and was attended by House Speaker Alex Tyler and four other members of the House of Representative from Bong, Montserrado, Lofa and Grand Cape Mount counties.

Speaking at the ceremony, Younquoi said when constructed, citizens of the area will have a better place to assemble and strategize on ways to move their district forward.

He said the facility will have two offices, a cafeteria, modern conference hall and toilet facility, among others.

According to Younquoi, funding for the project will be generated from his colleagues at the National Legislature, citizens of the district residing in and out of Liberia and the public.

He said funding will also be sought through rallies and other fund-raising activities.
