Watch Forum Nat’l Chair Raps On National Security

BOPOLU CITY, March 16 (LINA) - The National Chairman of the Community Watch Forum of Liberia (CWFL), Nyenati Kaffey, is calling on Liberians to prepare to protect their country in the wake of the on-going drawdown of the United Nations troops in Liberia.
Kaffey also admonished heads of watch forums around the country to begin coordinating their activities with the national security apparatus, to help sustain peace and security in Liberia.
He made the call over the weekend in an interview with journalists following a tour of the northwestern counties of Gbarpolu, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount, according to the Liberia News Agency.
Kaffey said the issue of national security is everybody’s business and appealed to local government officials, including superintendents, chiefs, elders and youths, to work along with the national security apparatus in their respective areas to close the gap created as a result of the drawdown of the UN soldiers.
Meanwhile, UNPOL Chief Inspector, Lutfu Dogan, who also spoke to reporters, appealed to Liberians to always provide UNPOL with information and also be prepared to follow-up with the Liberia National Police on all information provided, to ensure the speedy prosecution of criminals.
