By Calvin Brooks

MONROVIA, August 29 (LINA) – The Assistant Finance Minister for Expenditure has challenged Liberian students to maintain integrity and strive to succeed in their professional careers.

Mr. Alieu F. Nyei made the statement at the first Valedictorian Award ceremony organized by the Montserrado County Students Union (MONSU) held at the weekend under the theme “Shining light academic excellence” on the main campus of University of Liberia on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.

He noted that the lack of integrity is undermining the potential of young professionals whose brilliance must be guided by accountability and transparency in the exercise of their careers.

He stressed that Liberian students should strive to pursue higher education to the doctorate degree level to enable them contribute significantly to the growth and development of Liberia and the world at large.

Minister Nyei emphasized that the development of Liberia depends on the preparation of young people through professional careers to enhance their potential and ability on the job market.

More than 100 students from various institutions in Montserrado County were honored for obtaining the grade average of 85 percent and above during the 2015-2016 Academic Year by MONSU.
