Director Toe Nudges Gov’t To Invest More In Education
By Calvin Brooks

MONROVIA, August 22 (LINA) -The Project Director of the Liberia Dujar High School (LDHS), Mr. Dennis Toe, has called on the Liberian Government
to invest more money in the education sector to enhance the quality of the country’s human resource.

Toe is also recommending the provision of adequate training and support to teachers to effectively mould the minds of students.

He said the training of teachers is a major element in revamping Liberia’s education sector.

Project Director Toe made the call Sunday at the 11th graduation exercises of the Liberia Dujar High School held at the New Life Ministry in the Monrovia suburb of Barnersville.

He stressed that education is the foundation of national development, noting that if the country's human resource capacity is not well developed it will be difficult to achieve the nation's development agenda.

Toe attributed the mass failure of students in the recent West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams to factors ranging from the lack of adequate budgetary support to the lack of trained, qualified teachers.

He emphasized that investment in the education sector will go a long way in transforming the country's socio-economic landscape over a period of time.
