MONROVIA, August 22 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has described the late Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Dr. Edward McClain as “a man with impeccable character” and as his work ethics and humility will always be remembered.
The Liberian leader recounted that McClain was a man who led a life full of courage and dedication to duty as his quest for excellence contributed to the rebuilding process of Liberia.
"Your impeccable service and relationship at home with local officials and the Diplomatic Corps and with stakeholders, made you one minister that was well respected by everyone," President Sirleaf said.
The Liberian Leader made the comments at the funeral service of the fallen Minister of State at the Providence Baptist Church in Monrovia.
Dr. McClain died on Saturday, July 23, at the Wilgers Life Hospital in Lynwood, Pretoria, South Africa, following a period of illness.
President Sirleaf said that the work ethics, service and integrity of McClain stood up to all of his colleagues, especially to her over the past 18 years that she worked with the fallen minister.
She said as a result of his dedication to service, no job was too small or big for him to handle, and that no one was too small or big for him to call a friend.
"Through the good and difficult days and despite the distractions, you have served with courage and commitment to put our country first," she noted.
President Sirlef said McClain will also be remembered for his ability to seek consultation and discuss important matters that would bring immense benefit to the job and the people of Liberia.
