Bishop Announces L$669k Scholarship Program For Youths
By Decontee M. Wesseh

MONROVIA, August 18 (LINA) - The General Overseer of the Mission for Today Holy Tabernacle Church in New Kru Town, Monrovia, has announced a three-year scholarship program worth over L$669,575 for young Liberian high school students in academic and vocational education.

Bishop P. Manasseh Conto made the announcement in New Kru Town Tuesday during a meeting with youths of District #16.

Conto noted that young people are the future leaders and, therefore, it is the responsibility of everyone to provide educational opportunities for less fortunate youths in the country.

According to him, education is for the benefit and upliftment of the country and described prominent individuals in the country who are not promoting and supporting education as “enemies of progress and everything life has to offer.”

Conto then cautioned young Liberians and others to be "critical thinkers” to know who to elect as representative for the district in the forthcoming elections.
