MONROVIA, August 18 (LINA)  – The Government of Liberia has commissioned Mr. Abu Kamara as Minister Counselor to the Embassy of Liberia in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Performing the ceremony, Foreign Minister Marjon Kamara described Minister Counselor Kamara’s preferment as a tribute to his multi-tasking ability and performance while representing the Ministry of Information at the Permanent Mission of Liberia to the United Nations as Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs.

The Commissioning ceremony was held in the conference room of the ministry on Capitol Hill in Monrovia Thursday.

“While there (in the US) he could have stayed in his corner but was able to open his mind to learning new things based on which he has earned what he is getting today,” she noted.

Foreign Minister Kamara wants the achievement of Minister Counselor Kamara to serve as a lesson to Liberians wherever they find themselves, saying: “As we travel in our career, we need to take full advantage of every available opportunity at our disposal.”

The Foreign Ministry boss also labelled Minister Counselor Kamara as one who suits the job in Saudi Arabia because of his fluency in speaking Arabic.

In remarks, Minister Counselor Kamara assured his readiness to live by etiquettes in the pursuit of the goals and objectives of Liberian Foreign Policy.

He also promised to vigorously protect and promote the interest of his motherland.

Prior to his appointment as Minister Counselor to the Permanent Mission of Liberia at the United Nations, Kamara served as Assistant Minister for Information Services at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism.

Liberia recently opened its mission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
