MoE Builds Capacity Of Nimba School Administrators
By S. Kannay Ziamo, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

GANTA, August 17 (LINA) - Ahead of the official opening of schools for the 2016/2017 academic year,  the Ministry of Education (MoE) has trained school administrators in Bain Garr Education District, Nimba County.

The August 16-17 workshop brought together over 100 school administrators from the district, including Principals, Vice Principals for Administration and Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) Chairpersons.

During the two-day training, participants were drilled in personnel management, reporting skills, procurement and financial management.

Lead Facilitator James Garwa said the training is important for school administrators because it will prepare them to deal with financial and other managerial issues at their various schools.

He pointed out that school administrators have had some lapses in their functions due to lack knowledge of financial and other administrative issues, including personnel management, procurement, and reporting.

Garwa said the training, which is expected to be replicated in all parts of the country, is the MoE's way of strengthening the capacity of school administrators as part of efforts to revamp the education system.

He called on beneficiaries of the training to utilize what they have learnt for the common good of their country.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Principal of Zokehseh Public School in Ganta, Mr. Saye Kehzie, thanked the ministry for the training and called for more training opportunities for school administrators and teachers to build a stronger education system.
