LNP Generates L$74k, US$929 From Traffic Tickets In July - Spokesman
By Robert Dixon

MONROVIA, August 17 (LINA) - The Traffic Division of the Liberia National Police(LNP) has generated L$74,975 and US$929 through the issuance of tickets for traffic violations in the month of July 2016.

LNP acting Director of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Lewis M. Norman, told the Liberia News Agency Tuesday that the monies were paid into government revenue.

According to Norman, over 281 tickets were issued, out of which 104 were paid, while 193 tickets are still outstanding and three facing contest by the alleged violators.

He warned drivers against violating traffic regulations, stressing that the LNP will not hesitate to issue ticket to any driver who violates driving rules as such act could jeopardize the safety of the road.
