DEA Confiscates Over L$4m Marijuana

VOINJAMA, March 15 (LINA) – Agents of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) have confiscated over 6,500 tress of marijuana in Gbajubu Town in Lower Guman Clan, in Vahun District, Lofa County.
The DEA Lofa County commander George Ponny put the street value of the marijuana at over L$4.8 million.
He told the Liberia News Agency correspondent in Lofa County that the trees were seized from a farm belonging to one Musa Kamara, a Sierra Leonean national resident in the area.
Displaying the cannabis at the Lofa County administration building in Voinjama City Friday, Commander Ponny said Musa Kamara, who is a suspect, has escaped and is on the run.
Meanwhile, a man, 61, identified as Marcus Massaquoi, who is said to be the landlord of suspect Musa Kamara, has been arrested and charged with cultivation of a banned crop and has been forwarded to the Vahun Magisterial Court for prosecution.
